In recognition of a career body of work, Mr. Carde was elevated in 2001 to the AIA College of Fellows, the Institute’s highest honor exclusively for its members. 


As a visible leader in his field, he has been one of the most invited speakers at the AIA National Convention, having spoken across the country at Los Angeles, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Boston, Dallas, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco.

Locally, he has served as the Chair of the LA Historic Preservation Committee, for which he received the Chapter President’s Award.  Local Municipalities, ranging from Los Angeles to Santa Fe Springs, have acknowledged his work with awards and commendations.​ 


In his spare time, he enjoys golf and mountain climbing, having summited Mount Kilimanjaro in 2016. Mr. Carde received his B.A. from Yale University and his graduate degree in architecture from UCLA.
