PIERCE

COLLEGE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The 13,771 SF Childcare Development Center consists of two buildings

organized into two categories of spaces: classrooms and support / administrative areas. Each pair of classrooms will share children’s restrooms, a mini-lab / office for teachers and an observation room to be used by the students of the Child

Development Program on Campus.

The administrative wing will be

comprised of an area accessible to the public (reception area, staff offices,

conference room / class lab, parents’ room, restrooms) and an area designated for staff only (records room, staff workroom, staff lounge, service areas).

Upon completion of this project, the permanent Child Development Center will accommodate 140 children in any one hour and be able to serve a wider age population than the present facility.
