SANTA MONICA EARLY CHILDHOOD LAB SCHOOL

 

A  20,000 SF multi-use facility that will serve the students at Santa Monica College, provide childcare for 110 children and will be a resource for the Santa Monica community.

 

The facility includes a state of the art lab school that provides a teacher-training environment and academic lab component for SMC students in the Early Childhood Education Department. 

 

The two college classrooms are convertible into one larger assembly space that can be utilized for community based events  that provide information about child services and activities throughout the City of Santa Monica.

 

The Child Care Center will serve 110 children, from ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age. The program’s philosophy will reflect a play based constructivist approach to early education.
