The Child Care Development Center consists of two buildings of 13,771 SF that house classrooms and support / administrative areas. There will be six classrooms, organized into three pairs – each pair of classrooms will share children’s restrooms, a mini-lab / office for teachers and an observation room to be used by the students of the Childcare Development Program on Campus.
The administrative wing will have an area accessible to the public (reception area, staff offices, conference room / class lab, parents’ room, restrooms) and an area designated for staff only (records room, staff workroom, staff lounge, service areas). Upon completion of this project, the permanent Child Development Center will accommodate 120 children in any one hour period and be able to serve a wider age population than the present facility. This project has been designed for LEED certification level.
